Josh Marshall, over at TPM, has an idea I really like.
He suggests that billionaire progressive George Soros step up and offer to buy 90 minutes of airtime on Sinclair's stations, to show either Fahrenheit 9/11 or Going Upriver.
If Sinclair refuses to sell the time, they're exposed.
If the FEC steps in and says that buying the airtime is an illegal in-kind campaign contribution, the flaws in the system are revealed.
The FCC couldn't do anything about it without revealing partisanship, since they've already refused to step in and stop Sinclair.
Josh doubts that Soros would have to spend the money. I agree. But, in the event that he did, we'd still come out ahead.
